Kent McManis has sold Navajo weavings since the early 1970s. He and his wife, Laurie McManis, purchased their first rug together on their honeymoon. They have collected both contemporary and historic textiles ever since. Kent also lectures on the art of Navajo weaving. They live in Tucson, Arizona, where they own Grey Dog Trading Company.

Robert Jeffries' life-long interest in weaving was inspired at an early age by a Navajo rug which had been a wedding gift to his parents. He has been weaving the Navajo way for thirty-five years and has been involved with the world of Native American arts since 1981.

This book discusses, history, styles, standards of quality, and caring for your weavings. It is easy to read and understand and a very recommed primer on Navajo weaving.
