Although Susie has been working at the loom for most of her life, she weaves infrequently now. When she does weave, it is almost exclusively miniatures (about 2" X 4"). Susie learned to weave from her mother, Betty Bia, and her aunt Della Woody. Susie has a number of full-time weavers in her family, including her sisters Elouise Bia, Louise Yazzie, Ella Yazzie, and Lula Brown, as well as Lula's husband Herman Brown and a number of nieces and nephews.
