Ella learned to weave from her mother who has the same name of Ella Mae. They both specialize in the "Grandma Moses" style of pictorial weaving, and both have a lot of fun doing Christmas scenes all year long. The younger Ella thus far has done only smallish pieces which she can weave relatively quickly and receive a constant income. She will also often weave 2-in-1 or 4-in-1 designs.
