Dorina began weaving continuously about 1990, although she comes from a family of basket weavers (her younger sister, Ruby Thomas is widely known). Dorina prefers to weave the miniature baskets, using horsehair from the tail of the Arabian breed - it is long and fine and comfortable to weave. Although she has not been weaving long, Dorina's attention to detail and desire to stretch her artistic boundaries have made her an important emerging weaver. Dorina's basketry has been published in such volumes as "Santa Fe Indian Market" by Tryk & Nohl, and "Beyond Tradition" by the Jackas.
